Global Knowledge launches ‘CCNA Xtra’ with new online resources

22 June 2010 – Wokingham (UK)/Cairo (Egypt) – Trainees today are looking for a more multi-layered collaborative approach to learning, which does not necessarily replace existing offerings but enhances and complements them. Global Knowledge recognizes this changing environment and has just launched CCNA Xtra, an offering that meets those new needs and blends seamlessly with its existing portfolio.

CCNA Xtra provides pre-and post-course information and activities, and is available online to all delegates who are studying for their Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification with Global Knowledge.

Global Knowledge has already seen significant success with their recently launched VMware Xtra service in the United Kingdom, and this new offering builds on that foundation, enabling customers to make the most of their CCNA Certification training.

“We’re fully aware that clients welcome our support outside the classroom as part of their education. Whether the desire is to pass the certification or to further understand the technology, CCNA Xtra is designed to give the learner further assistance and help cement the learning process,” explained Richard Pryor-Jones, President - EMEA of Global Knowledge. “It’s important to make the additional resources accessible and our selection of relevant – instructor-view videos, network course choices, revision packets, proof of configuration demos and more is all geared towards maximizing the delegates learning experience”

Global Knowledge has also available CCNA Mentored Workshops and a CCNA Level troubleshooting course that enables delegates who have opted for alternative methods of learning the opportunity to revisit lab scenario’s that perhaps e-learning packages alone do not provide and to bridge the gap between CCNA and CCNP troubleshooting.

“Sometimes people don’t have the time or opportunity to give a full week or two to learn about a new technology or gain a required certification,” explained Pryor-Jones. “We have designed the workshop to complement our e-learning package to create a flexible CCNA package or alternatively this can be viewed as a standalone opportunity giving delegates hands-on practical routing and switching experience.”

“By being able to reduce the time spent in a classroom by up to 80%, as well as making classroom-based learning as flexible as possible, we hope to bring authorized CCNA training to the widest possible audience of individuals and organizations”
